LTHYW was created to help women embrace their natural hair, increase self-esteem, and support the self care journey. LTHYW is a uniquely curated experience that connects attendees with brands and techniques that empower them. Hair is the vehicle for LTHYW but the message is much deeper.
Since its inception in 2015, LTHYW has been featured on Essence.com, NBC Washington, Great Day Washington & 102 Jamz. In 2025, the Love The Hair You Wear Foundation, Inc. was established as the charitable arm of the LTHYW brand, created to expand our mission through scholarships, educational initiatives, and community impact programs. Meet the Founder
Vecoya Banks is a graduate of the World Renowned North Carolina A&T State University and trailblazer in the natural hair community. She has been featured on media platforms such as Essence, Good Morning Washington, Great Day Washington and Fox5WTTGDC. This woman of God gave birth to a vision that has inspired hundreds of women of color to "Love The Hair You Wear". As a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Incorporated she has positively impacted her community through her events that cater to women, children and men.
